Pennsylvania health department announces 2 additional measles deaths, bringing total to 4
The Pennsylvania Department of Health Sept. 15 announced the confirmation of two additional measles-associated deaths, bringing the state’s total to four. The department said both individuals were unvaccinated. The state previously announced two measles-associated deaths on Aug. 25. So far this year, there have been 693 confirmed measles cases across the state. As of Sept. 11, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that 3,294 confirmed measles cases have been reported nationwide.
